Our Food

The heart of what we do

Here at The Royal Oak we pride ourselves on beautiful, home cooked, delicious and interesting cuisine. Our speciality is our Asian and international cuisine. Phil, the Landlord and Head Chef is widely travelled and pulls his inspiration from many years travelling the globe in search of gastronomic delights. Having spent many years running his own restaurants, as well as heading up large hospitality businesses, Phil brings admirable culinary expertise to the very lucky people of Wiltshire.

Our Specials

Example of our Specials

When we say home cooked we mean home cooked. From our sauces, our stocks, our deserts and our main meals, even our pizza bases are created, baked and aged on site. Our Sunday roasts, with locally reared lamb or pork, with light yorkshire puds, delicious roast potatoes and an array of seasonal vegetables are not to be missed. We offer a takeaway service for our pizzas and curries and our a-la-carte menu offers a range of dishes to suit all tastes, from the traditional home-made meat pie (our venison pie is a particular favourite), to some of our favourite curries. We always have a range of fully vegetarian meals (including a vege-roast on Sundays).

We buy fresh fish every day from our trusted supplier in St Mawes in Cornwall, and we offer a range of fish and seafood dishes within our specials.

For the more adventurous we have a interesting and delicious Tapas menu as well as a range of specials designed to excite and inspire you. From fragrant Thai soups, to Sri-Lankan vegetable curry, to Japanese cod and Lebanese street food, there are always a varied and authentic range of dishes on offer. Not what you would expect at all from such a friendly local pub.

We offer an interesting and varied wine list to compliment our range of dishes, as well as fresh Illy coffee in all it’s variations.

And if you happen to be passing at around 6pm – Phil puts on a delicious taster of his food in nightly bar snacks, served fresh and hot from the kitchen. From lobster to pork dumplings to mini-pizzas it’s always a surprise and always very well received.

And last but not least is our professional and happy team of bar and restaurant staff, managed by the effervescent JoJo, and all keen to ensure your visit to The Royal Oak is memorable for all the right reasons. We look forward to seeing you soon.
